A thoughtful renovation and extension that redefines a traditional home through light, clarity, and connection to landscape.
The existing home was defined by enclosed rooms, limited natural light, and a lack of connection to the outdoors. A poorly constructed addition played a key role in bridging the gap between inside and outside.
The clients wanted a home that felt open, calm, and better suited to contemporary living.
Our approach was centred on creating a clear and legible plan, supported by a series of carefully placed openings that draw light into the depth of the home.
We retained the original front portion of the house, introducing a measured contemporary extension to the rear. Living spaces were reoriented to engage directly with the garden, establishing a stronger connection to landscape.
A quiet, considered material palette reinforces a sense of continuity, allowing the architecture to feel cohesive and resolved.
The home now feels calm, open, and intuitive to inhabit. Natural light defines the atmosphere throughout, while the connection to the outdoors enhances both spatial quality and liveability.
The project demonstrates how a restrained, carefully considered intervention can transform an existing home.
