  • A measured reworking of a period home, balancing heritage character with a calm and contemporary living environment.

The home was compartmentalised and inward-looking, with limited natural light and a weak connection to the garden.

The clients were seeking a more open, functional home that felt calm and cohesive.

We retained and restored the original front rooms, preserving their scale and character, while introducing a carefully resolved extension to the rear.

The new work establishes a clear and legible plan, with living spaces oriented toward the garden. Large openings and controlled skylights allow light to filter deep into the interior, reinforcing a connection to the outdoors.

Material selections are deliberately restrained, creating a quiet continuity between old and new.

The result is a home that feels composed and highly liveable. Spaces flow naturally, and the relationship to the garden enhances everyday life.

The project reflects a balanced approach—respecting what exists while introducing a contemporary layer with clarity and restraint.
